A standing-room-only crowd jammed Odle Arena Friday night to witness one of the best traditions in all of college basketball as Taylor University fans sat in complete silence until the Trojans scored their 10th point during their annual Silent Night game. Florida College Basketball Player Arrested for $3 Taco TheftMay 23, 2012
Florida's Erving Walker arrested Florida basketball player Erving Walker was arrested early Friday in connection to a $3 taco stolen from a Gainesville street vendor. Walker was charged with retail petit theft and resisting an officer without violence at 1 am after Gainesville Police Department officers apprehended him after a foot chase that also involved several police cars. Walker was given a notice to appear April 19. According to an arrest report, Walker ordered and received a taco from a street vendor on Main Street but fled without paying. Police chased Walker onto University Avenue, at which time an officer shouted, "Police! Stop!" The report stated that Walker looked back at the officer but continued to flee. The 22-year-old Walker was eventually caught several blocks later. According to the report, Walker admitted to stealing the taco but said he was "just playing around." Walker finished his career at Florida last weekend when the Gators lost to Louisville in the West Region final. He is the school's all-time leader in assists (547) and is fourth in scoring (1777 points). Like us on Facebook www.facebook.com

Grinnell College Basketball Offensive System VideoMay 16, 2012
The Grinnell offensive system has grown over the years and Coach Dave Arseneault uses his players in this on-court demonstration to show the system in its entirety. The DVD begins with the offense after being scored on and all the options - which include point guard attacking the rim, right wing off a double screen, trailer option, left wing setting a screen and using screens and finally a swing/swing option. The offense also employs a two-man game when the point guard is forced from the middle. The options are the same when attacking off a live ball change of possession. Their offensive attack versus a zone is also demonstrated. The on-court demonstrations finish with a 10-minute drill to teach the players how to play until effectively tired. Coach Arseneault concludes the DVD with 2008.
